If you are taking buses to the venue, the Light Rail Transit (LRT) starts at 6 AM on Saturday but on Sunday it starts only at 9 AM. So, for Sunday it is not possible to take the LRT and be on time, as breakfast starts at 8 AM (on both days) and the program starts at 9 AM sharp.
If you are coming from the West, you can take the LRT from Tunney’s Pasture and get off either at Rideau or uOttawa Station. If you get off at Rideau Station, then you have to walk toward the Defence Building and from there, it is about a 5-minute walk to the East. If you get off at uOttawa station, then you need to return back towards the Desmarais Building.
If you are coming from the East (Blair side) LRT, get off at Uottawa station and head west towards Rideau Center. You need to walk about 10 minutes to get to the Desmarais Building.
If you are driving, there is free street parking at Wilbrod Street and Stewart Street. These places could be packed. In that case, whole-day parking is available for $9 around the intersection of Cumberland and Wilbrod area. To park in this area, you have to pay using a parking App HotSpot which you need to download first and follow the instructions to make the payment. There are no pay booths in this location.
Also, there is an underground parking at the Desmarais building where you can pay either using the App or the Booth. To get to the underground parking, take Laurier Avenue, turn to Nicholas Street (from either side of Laurier) and immediately the underground parking will be on your right. Google map can help you reach there.
Parking may take some time, especially if you need to download the App, please start early.
